Dr. Knott-Craig
Christopher J. Knott-Craig, M.D., is the Chief of Pediatric Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Born in South Africa, Dr. Knott-Craig obtained his medical degree at the University of Cape Town and received training in cardiothoracic surgery at both the Groote Schuur Hospital and the Tygerberg Hospital and University of Stellenbosch. Following completion of his residency training, he served as Specialist Cardiothoracic Surgeon and then Senior Specialist, Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon and Chief of Pediatric Cardiac Surgery at the Tygerberg Hospital and University of Stellenbosch in Cape Town. Dr. Knott-Craig was the recipient of the Evarts A. Graham Traveling Memorial Fellowship from the American College of Surgeons in 1989-90. He joined the full time faculty at The Kirklin Clinic at UAB Health Center in Birmingham, AL in June, 2006. (Curriculum Vitae)
